Mama Namiye

Mama Namiye is like a holiday on the Turkish coast. She is so hospitable and sweet; everybody loves her! She has many years of kitchen experience and is an excellent addition to Mama’s Koelkast! Mama Namiye is always enthusiastic to start cooking; if she comes along with us in the food truck, her sweet husband always pays a quick visit. He is also a cook, so they’re a tremendous culinary couple together, and he always gets a quick taste in.

Mama Namiye uses her family recipes and all the skills she learned from her mother and grandmother in the kitchen. The result is authentic Turkish dishes, always with much taste and entirely self-made. Mama Namiye is a master in baking her own (flat) bread for expanded lunch menus. Mama Therisa

Mama Therisa is the kindest Surinamese person you will ever meet. She is always smiling and happy; working with her is a true party. And there’s always something delicious to eat when she’s around because of her great passion for cooking. For her, cooking is equal to caring, and she is very caring. Mama Therisa has recently switched from working in youth care to full-time catering. And we of Mama’s Koelkast are very happy about that! She stands in the food truck and comes along with catering assignments. Mama Therisa likes to experiment with the traditional dishes from the Surinamese cuisine; by doing this, she is able to create new versions of well-known and loved meals, snacks and sandwiches. You really should try her cassava chips!

Mama Patricia

Mama Patricia brings you to her world, all the way to Mexico! She is proud of her culture and can talk about it endlessly. If she isn’t busy making her authentic salsas with Mama’s Koelkast, she works in a children’s daycare because she loves kids. She also visits her family in Mexico often to gain extra culinary inspiration.

You will have a guaranteed fun evening filled with beautiful stories with mama Patricia and a good time all around with the most delicious authentic Mexican cuisine! Wrapped in traditional clothing, everybody is welcomed by mama Patricia who makes sure everybody has a good time during the business party, wedding or birthday dinner.

Mama Mercedes

Mama Mercedes is our Spanish mama. When she serves her meals, you’ll feel like you’re sitting in the hot summer sun on the Spanish costa. That vacation feeling is complemented by her charming and beautiful appearance as if she’s bringing the Spanish sun to you. When she isn’t working in the kitchen of Mama’s Koelkast on her specialties like Spanish tortillas, mama Mercedes is busy with her other job as a translator and art teacher. You will definitely have a small lesson in speaking Spanish and an artwork at the table when she caters for you.

When mama Mercedes is busy working in the kitchen, she often calls her mother for advice on the correct ingredients and methods to prepare the meals. So an authentic family recipe that was handed over from mother to daughter. Go on a trip to Spain with mama Mercedes!

Mama Keren

Mama Keren, our star from Israel. Everybody becomes happy because of her calm energy, and they have much respect for how she combines her career with caring for her three kids. In Mama Keren’s previous career, she was missing the fulfilment she gets from cooking for others. Sharing the tastes of her childhood, the rich culture of Israel and the memories she has with each dish, that’s what she wanted to do every day. So she changed directions, starting working with Mama’s Koelkast to gain more experience and working towards her goal: carrying out her passion daily.

With Mama Keren, you always get so much more than just food; the experience and ambience are just as important with her. Eating for a long time and sharing stories that is her goal. She prefers to have a table filled with appetisers and meals to share with other people while enjoying the conversations around the table. In mama Keren’s meals, you can taste all sorts of flavours, stories and the culture of Israel! Her self-made lava bread is an integral part of this, definitely something to share and enjoy.

Mama Luba

Mama Luba is from Latvia and has taught us much more about East Europe’s cuisine. She knows what to do with down-to-earth ingredients to get fresh tastes. Before she decided to follow her passion for cooking, she was a guide in our beautiful city. Now, she combines this job with cooking traditional Latvian meals and snacks. She has also added culinary tours to her list of offers, so she’s a real entrepreneur!

She’s liked in the kitchen of Mama’s Koelkast for her calm and very professional demeanour, and her dishes always introduce a new taste. Mama Luba cooks, for example, syrniki, a small light pancake using cottage cheese. Also, the classic borscht and the East-European version of a cheesecake are dishes mama Luba puts on the table often. Get inspired with fresh new tastes with Mama Luba’s cooking!

Mama Pao

Mama Pao makes you get acquainted with the real authentic dishes of her motherland China in a very special way because she cooks with vegetables from her own kitchen garden! She also uses vegetables that were rejected because of a weird shape or a ‘wrong’ colour. Because everything is vegetarian, mama Pao calls her style of cooking planet-proof Asian. She is very conscience about sustainability and using products consciously, not just in her own business but also in Mama’s Koelkast, which we think is worth a lot.

Mama Pao cooks the authentic Chinese cuisine, often surprisingly tasteful and subtle. She makes everything herself, from the sauces to the marinades. Such authentic Asian tastes aren’t found very easily! Whether an entire meal or small appetisers, mama Pao will always surprise you.

Mama Khadija

Mama Khadija cooks peacefully and with the most beautiful smile in the world, her Moroccan meals and sweets. Besides her work in Mama’s Koelkast, she is also a paediatrician assistant, making sure the kids suddenly love going to the dentist with those stunning eyes, ensuring everything’s fine! Mama Khadija is always enthusiastic and incredibly patient, a blast to have working in the kitchen. Besides a wide offer of traditional Moroccan meals, Khadija also loves to bake classic Moroccan delights. She also gives cooking workshops on these, which you can find in the workshop calendar. During the workshops, you’ll learn the secret of how to have a diverse table filled with sweet appetisers.

Mama Prerna

Mama Prerna is from colourful India and has moved to the Netherlands with her family for her husband’s job. When her kids were old enough to care for themselves, mama Prerna decided it was time for self-development. She wanted to do something with her passion for cooking! She likes to make authentic Indian meals from different regions, richly filled salads and healthy snacks like energy balls and smoothies. Prerna also loves cooking with children! She gives workshops during school holidays where kids learn to make their own vegetable pizzas, smoothies and healthy cookies.

But she also loves to share her skills with grown-ups, and her Indian cooking workshops are always fully booked. A lesson in Bollywood dancing is always a part of the workshop!

The rich Indian cuisine cannot be put into one dish, the country is very large and has a wide range of climates and religions, and due to this, each region has their own dish. But the most well-known curries and Indian roti are dishes we know over here, and mama Prerna loves to cook these dishes. She uses her family recipes for buttered chicken, biryani and her delicious paratha. This type of flatbread with fenugreek leaf is handmade and baked on a special plate. You must have tasted at least one in your life!

Mama Lily

Mama Lily will bring Brazil to you! With her exuberant character and colourful dishes, it’s immediately a party. The Brazilian culture can be felt whenever mama Lily is in the kitchen, where she likes to create snacks and little appetisers. Salsa music, tasty drinks and a table overflowing with scents, colours and flavours. If you want a full table with Brazilian delights, you should really choose Mama Lily.

She makes pao de queijo, coxinhas and bolinhos. So, a diverse range of tasty croquettes, pasties and delights. But also traditional stews with, for example, beans or fish are in her book of recipes. The black beans stew feijoada or the moqueca, a tropical stew with fish. Would you rather taste some of the sweet Brazilian cuisine? In that case, she can also make brigadeiros, exciting bonbons.
